Win total, Super Bowl, conference, and division chances for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom Brady’s retirement lasted 40 days before he opted to take one more trip in the NFL to solidify his GOAT reputation. The oddsmakers agree – the Bucs are the betting line favorite to represent the NFC in next February’s Super Bowl.

Below, we examine the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2022 NFL futures chances at Tipico Sportsbook, including win total, division, conference, and Super Bowl odds and best bet choices among our NFL picks and predictions.

It’s unusual for NFL rosters to remain as intact as Tampa Bay’s. Still, the Buccaneers re-signed 17 of their prospective free agents this offseason, not counting Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Ndamukong Suh, who remain unsigned. The Buccaneers also lost G Alex Cappa, RB Ronald Jones, TE O.J. Howard, and safety Jordan Whitehead. However, the club gained G Shaq Mason, WR Russell Gage, and S Keanu Neal in free agency.

Tampa Bay did not have a first-round selection but addressed both lines in the second round with DE Logan Hall and OT Luke Goedeke, replaced key spots with RB Rachaad White in the third round and TE Cade Otton in the fourth, as they usually seem to do.

2022 Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ win total: Best bet

The odds are provided by OKBET Sportsbook for a complete list. Lines were last updated Sunday, May 15 at 10:37 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 11.5 (-110 | -110)

When I initially saw this statistic, my immediate instinct was that it was much too high. However, as most people should do when attempting to predict an Over/Under number, look at the schedule and, all else being equal, try to pick the number of games when the club under consideration is expected to be an underdog.

The most I could think of for Tampa was two road games, one in Dallas and one in San Francisco. They face formidable opponents, but the remainder of their opponents are at home, including the Packers, Chiefs, Rams, and Bengals.

When you combine having their hardest opponents at home with a low expectation of going 5-1 versus division opponents, it becomes evident that 12-5 is not only plausible, but likely. If the Buccaneers go 6-0 against the NFC South, they just need to go 6-5 in their remaining games to reach the greatest amount of victories on the board.

2022 Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl odds

Odds: +700 (bet 100 to win 700)

This is one of the rare wagers involving the Buccaneers that has a reasonable return. I was much ahead of the curve when it came to knowing not to gamble against Brady. I’ve probably earned more money betting against Brady teams than any other player because you bet against the greatest to ever play at your own risk.

The oddsmakers aren’t helping you – the reigning champion Rams are +1000 — but when Brady’s fairytale career shifts from the field to the TV booth, when a playoff game begins with Brady in it, you’ll be hard pushed to wager against him, regardless of venue.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff chances in 2022

Will the Buccaneers make the postseason? No -649 | Yes +425

Nobody should pay $649 throughout the summer in order to win $100 in January. It’s a stupid play that will only generate money for those hoping Brady gets hurt in Week 1. Even yet, I’m not confident that any of the other clubs in the division will end with a winning record, so 9 victories may enough.

Winning chances NFC Division South

  • +1500 Atlanta Falcons (bet 100 to win 1,500)
  • Panthers +1000 (bet 100 to win 100)
  • +400 New Orleans Saints (bet 100 to win 400)
  • -310 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (bet 310 to win 100)

This is comparable to whether or not the Tampa Bay Lightning will reach the playoffs. It’s a straightforward “yes or no” choice, yet the payoff on the other side requires a large investment. To make this bet work, you must deposit around $3,100 in order to win $1,000, and there are several better bets that a player can make that do not need such a large expenditure.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +320 (bet 100 to win 320)

This one may seem strange considering I back the +700 to win the Super Bowl. However, the payoff on this wager is quite minimal. Using the doubling technique, this should be at +350, and I see four other teams with genuine chances of winning the NFC – Los Angeles, Green Bay, Dallas, and San Francisco. I might consider it if the Bucs were at +350, but there are too many uncertainties to truly support a 3.2 times return. If you believe they will win the NFC, why not bet on one more victory at a better rate of return?
